CMA ARTogether Assistant Internship: The Children’s Museum of the Arts’ ARTogether program is looking for a Cantonese and/or Mandarin speaking volunteer or student intern to assist with family visits at the museum. The position provides an opportunity to gain experience working in a unique community-based, family-centered program with families from the Chinese immigrant community who are navigating NYC’s child welfare system. Responsibilities include providing language support for families during their visits as well as engaging families in art and imaginative play activities through out the museum. The intern will be expected to assist the museum’s clinically trained visit facilitator on Saturdays beginning this Fall for 3-5 hours a week. Visits are scheduled on Saturdays between 12pm and 5pm. The position is unpaid and, depending on school requirements, hours may be used toward fulfilling school internships in Art Therapy or related training programs. Applicants must be fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Experience in social and human services is preferred.
