Learn the fundamentals of turntablism or practice your six step.    About DJ TJ Mizell  TJ Mizell is a producer and DJ based out of NYC under DopeRoots Music. He spins and entertains at special events\, fashion shows & nightclubs in the city and around the world. The majority of his musical influence comes from his father\, the legendary Jam Master Jay of Run DMC and his mentors at the Scratch DJ Academy founded by J.M.J. DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about how to collect art? Interested in discovering new artists? Join us as we visit three contemporary art galleries in the Lower East Side and learn about emerging artists from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds\, through intimate tours led by each gallery’s director. This festival will include a variety of performing and visual art experiences to teach families and children about traditional and contemporary arts of the Caribbean culture. The featured guest artist for the Caribbean Festival will be master Haitian drummer Gaston Jean-Baptiste\, known as Bonga\, and his drum and dance troupe. The day will also feature drumming workshops\, an exploration of mask-making traditions\, storytelling\, and more.    Support for this program provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the Lunar New Year\, CMA will explore the arts and culture of New York’s Chinese community. The festival will include a variety of visual art experiences to teach families and children about traditional and contemporary arts in China.  The Chinese Theater Works will perform “Tiger Tales”\, a shadow puppet show and the day will be capped off by a special performance of the Chinese Lion Dancers of PS124!    Just announced: CMA is proud to welcome guest folk artists from the Asian American Art Center to demonstrate their crafts throughout the day. Activities include calligraphy\, paper cutting\, Mehandi art and grass animal making.
