Highly creative stop-motion animated films are created by young visitors of CMA every week in the Media Lab. But before this happens, a SET is created. You will have the opportunity to work alongside CMA Media Lab teaching artists to create intricately detailed worlds for upcoming CMA films.

Working closely with CMA Media Lab teaching artists, visitors will animate their own short films. The process of stop-motion animation will be introduced and various techniques including claymation, cut-paper and pixilation will be explored.
Entering its fourth year of partnership with Governors Island, CMA’s Free Art Island Outpost programming will run every Saturday and Sunday, from 11-3 PM, inside and surrounding buildings 11 & 14 in Nolan Park.
Create your own masterpiece. Work with our Teaching Artists to explore classical themes and techniques used by some of the masters.
