Spring Semester
January 30-May 17. Fee: $500 ($450, CMA Members)
Drawing & Sculpture @5
In this advanced class, you will learn traditional techniques as well as innovative approaches to drawing and sculpture. You will advance your ability to conceive of ‘made objects’ by learning how to draft 2D form and translate it into actual 3D sculpture. You will study drawing as a tool for understanding planes and form, while exploring traditional and experimental sculptural material. Together we will approach the visual arts as a language and learn how to discuss our work and the work of others. You will learn classic techniques inspired by various genres or art history in order to arrive at your own uniquely contemporary artistic voice and style. Teacher Yashua Klos has shown his personal work in galleries in New York and Chicago and received his MFA from Hunter College, where he also now teaches drawing and painting. This class is ideal for students looking to build their portfolio.
