Private and Small Group Lessons

1303

CMA now offers private and small group lessons for artists ages 5-15 interested in further developing skills, working on a special project, or fulfilling a portfolio requirement. CMA’s private lessons allow for individual exploration and developing artistic ideas with personalized one-on-one support of a professional teaching artist.

 Choose your subject:

  • Fine Arts – Learn the fundamentals of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and/or textiles. CMA’s Fine Art Teaching Artists will lead students in exploration of Masters and Contemporary artists as well as focus on projects that develop age-appropriate skills in the requested medium.
  • Media Lab- CMA Media Lab teaching artists encourage and empower young artists to be active and discerning viewers of film and media and to create their own films, animations and various other multi media projects. Lessons are available in stop motion animation filmmaking, puppet and set building, digital photography, cinematography and postproduction. Students in CMA’s Private lessons can also take advantage of CMA State-of-the-art Sound Booth, taking classes in sound recording and radio podcasting.
  • Reel/Portfolio Development- For aspiring artists, CMA can provide a head start in portfolio work while building the confidence and skills needed to succeed in an art focused high school. Guided by professional teaching artists, you will refine your distinguished style as you create several finalized artworks to satisfy the requirements of most admission policies.
