The Children’s Museum of the Arts is proud to present an exhibition by The Cartwheel Initiative, an organization committed to bringing art to children coping with the aftermath of conflict and disaster. Cartwheel’s team of New York City artists, led by co-founder Ashok Sinha, exhibit the works of kids living in post-war Sri Lanka. Having traveled to schools in Northeast Sri Lanka, these artists have shared their artistic expertise and provided children with a variety of creative forms of self-expression.
The exhibition features over 50 works of art including collages, prints, and photographs by Sri Lankan youth and will be on view from June 7 – July 15, 2012 in CMA’s Fine Arts Studio. In addition, Cartwheel instructors will offer hands-on workshops inspired by the exhibition. For a complete list of guest workshops, visit our calendar.
