Summer Group Visits

1695

JULY AND AUGUST ONLY
Summer group visits allow for camps to experience a personalized, educational, and fun museum visit. Led by our team of teaching artists, group visits start with a tour of our current gallery exhibition. CMA Teaching artists will then lead campers in a hands-on art workshop of your choosing. See below for more information on the current workshop selection.

Group Visit Workshop Options

CMA develops hands-on workshops that support the DOE’s Blueprint and are inspired by our current exhibition. Please choose from a selection of age-appropriate workshops below:

  • Ages 3 to 5
  • Ages 5 to 10
  • Ages 10 to 15
  • Fees

Intro to Art: In this process-oriented workshop, young artists work with a variety of art making materials, including paint, glue and drawing tools. This WEE Arts inspired early childhood workshop promotes experimentation, exploration and creative thinking.

Foundations in Art: These workshops are process-oriented and creative introductions to core artistic mediums. Choose from:

Mixed Media – In this workshop, students will work with a variety of materials such as fabric, trim, media clippings and more to create a dynamic composition. Projects will be inspired by our current exhibition and gallery discussion.

Drawing and Painting: Students will use an array of drawing and painting materials, from craypas to watercolors, to create a two-dimensional work of art. Drawing inspiration from our current exhibition, and using art fundamentals, students will discover the subject matter of their work.

Printmaking: Students will carve, indent or cut to create their own styrofoam printing plate or rubber printing block. Students experiment with original patterns and subjects, and experience the medium’s paradoxical ability to produce multiples of the same design, but never the same copy twice!

Advanced Workshops: These workshops are skill-based and technical explorations of particular art mediums and professional materials and equipment. Choose from:

Drawing & Painting: In this intensive workshop, students focus on medium and technique. Using high quality materials, students will focus on a particular drawing or painting skill and create a two-dimensional work of art.

Printmaking: Students focus on the use of color and design by practicing the technique of silk-screening or block printing to create multiple prints of their original design.

60 Minute Workshops:
1 – 20 students, $225
21 – 30 students, $275
31 – 40 students, $300
41- 50 students, $375
