CMA’s Young Artist Kollective (YAK), is a free program that provides emerging young artists in 6th-9th grade with exclusive studio space and materials, artistic and technical guidance, opportunities to meet with guest artists, and a chance to learn about professional opportunities across the art world.
ABOUT YAK
In YAK, it’s YOUR call! Pick a group topic as you collaborate with other members and choose from a list of available art mediums including screenprinting, animation, fashion design, sound recording and more. Have your own project in mind? CMA’s Teaching Artists are here to provide you with profesional materials, equipment, and guidance as you create the finished product. PLUS, as a YAK member, you get exclusive access to CMA’s space after hours to work on your art!
YAK Exclusive Studio Hours
Fine Arts Studio: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7 PM
Media Lab: Thursdays from 3-7 PM
Please Note: YAK members have free access to the museum at any time during general hours to work on projects and access materials and equipment.
YAK members also get to participate in CMA ART SLAMS, a free party, exclusively for 6th-9th graders.
