This foundations class introduces you to art fundamentals and techniques through exploration of notable, diverse artists. Each day, you will focus on one of three major artistic fundamentals: drawing and painting, printmaking, and sculpture. After mastering a deeper understanding of each element, you will have an opportunity to further develop your own artistic style with the subject of your choice.

Don’t just “walk” in a winter wonderland, create and animate one! With various materials including fabric, wire clay, paper, feathers and fur, you will conceive of and create sets and puppets, animate them, and compile them into an original film medley. Not only will you learn the basic technique of frame by frame stop motion animation, you’ll have the chance to use it to tell stories inspired by winter. The collaborative film created in this unique and creatively empowering workshop will be posted on the CMA Blog.
